Ingredients: 2 Egg - 4 c. water

Procedure

Place 2 c. of cool tap water in a small saucepan, add the egg to saucepan. Over high heat, bring the water to a full boil. Place a lid on the pan and remove it from the heat. Let it sit for 15 minutes. Cut the egg in half lengthwise. Remove the yolk of one half of the egg and place the cut side down on the plate. Record observations in Table.

Variations

Control, fresh egg - Follow basic preparation of hard-cooked egg as above.

Fresh egg, long cooking time - Place an egg in cool water; bring to a boil on high. When water boils, reduce heat to low, place a lid on the pan, and cook for 60 minutes.
